Here are some details about what our tuning packages are all about, the process, risks involved, items/ programs needed etc.
First, I will explain what we will do regarding hardware - overclocking.
Overclocking is the main way that we make a PC run faster and smoother. We understand that there are myths and rumours going that overclocking will shorten the lifespan of components or cause some components to burn out or die. All these are risks are addressed in the FAQ page and we can assure you that the possibility of that happening is 2% on average. And that is mostly due to component failure rather than failure due to the overclock. Using our years of experience, we take calculated risks with overclocking and tuning your PC. If we feel that it is too risky, we will not go ahead with it - EVEN if you insist!
Remember, anyone can overclock or learn how to do it, but what we do is a ballet of voltages, timings and temperatures. A lot of technical related matters come into play during overclocking, and we will provide a good balanced overclock to what you require while keeping temperatures down and under control. What makes us special and different is the high speed, as low as possible temperatures, lower voltage and power as well as optimised memory timings and even subtimings.
Below, we have brief descriptions of how to purchase a package and what will happen when you purchase a package with us.
This is where the first and most important step comes into play:
1) System Assessment.
The best way to assess your system if you have some basic computer hardware knowledge is over the phone or email. A report log with reasons as to why your pc is deemed fit or unfit will be handed to you. Possible reasons are system age, temperatures, lack of options in BIOS, etc. This is where we will be honest that if we cant do it, we will not.
2)Terms and Conditions
Granted there are risks involved, but we hope that through our track record and experience, we will be able to gain your trust that nothing will go wrong. However, if something does go wrong, we will do our best to assist in an RMA or exchange for a new component from the distributor. Remember that even though there is no black and white, we will remind you verbally or through any correspondence, sms or email, that we will not be held responsible but will do our best to assist.
3) Customer Expectations
We will do our very best to achieve the speeds you like or you hope to see to the best of our ability. You can even purchase third party heatsinks and thermal compunds to assist your PC achieve a target you set for it. However, whether we do achieve the target or not, a report will be given to you with reasons and best achieved results.
4) Overclocking Starts from the CPU, then RAMs. (provided OS is already installed)
We will then start overclocking the processor, stress testing it with programs designed to place a heavy load or even the maximum possible load on your processor to test for stability. Normally the home user runs it for 6 to 8 hours. We run it for 22 hours straight. In air con, non air con, humid or non humid environments. Also testing will be done for cold boot and warm boots to see if the setting stays. Once done, we will carry on with RAMs, speed and timings.
This is where the software part of the process comes in.
If Software Optimisation is purchased, we will then go on to tweak the graphics card and OS.
5) OS is tweaked and tuned.
Registry settings, configurations, services will be configured to best use the least memory. This will be tuned to your needs.
6) Graphics card overclocking.
We will then use programs like Riva Tuner or ATI Tool to overclock your graphics card. 3Dmark, Aquamark 3 and some games may be loaded to test the stability of the card. 3Dmark06 is the confirmed have for graphics tuning.
7) All done! Have a look at your PC, upon delivery or collection and have a feel! If you are happy, you can bring your PC home or accept the delivery at your place! However, if you are not satisfied, we will spend some time doing a little more tweaking till you are happy and satisfied!
Most importantly, we will leave contact numbers, email addresses or our forum address for your info if you have a problem with your PC AFTER we are done. This is part of the support we can and will offer you. We will even go back to your location (Free of charge) to solve a problem within a week if necessary. One Year Carry in is then offered after a week. System Specs must not change. Of Course, please do have a look at our customer testimonials as well!
